Coinciding with the release of A level results today – I read an interesting article on how students have been turning increasingly to social media to help them make their choice of University. Students are just as likely to be influenced by social hashtags as by the official course prospectus, particularly for overseas students who can’t always visit in person.
Facebook and twitter will often give prospective students a sense of whether they will fit in with life at a University, something that official channels may not easily convey.
Manage social platforms through your CRM!
It’s really important for university marketers to be aware of social sentiment across all social platforms, to monitor hashtags, and proactively use official university hashtags when providing useful and shareable insights. Marketing teams will be familiar with social monitoring platforms which are really helpful when it comes to scheduling cross-platform posts, monitoring sentiment and conversations. They may be less familiar with Social Engagement, which is an app from Microsoft that can do all this, as well as being integrated with Dynamics Education 365 CRM. This allows you to easily import social leads to your database; helping you get a broader picture of leads and their engagement with you over time.
