UK Uni’s gaining exclusive insight into US labour market

Coventry University are the latest Active customer to invest in both UK and US Labour Insight software to give them a unique and granular insight into both labour markets.  Labour Insight will be used by the University’s Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations, to enable them to further their research in integrated peacebuilding, trust and social and community relations.

Competition for international students around the world is growing.  Labour Insight is used by hundreds of educational institutions on both sides of the Atlantic, to boost recruitment and to support initiatives that align with today’s job market. Use of in-depth, localised labour market data allows educators to increase enrollment and foster student success, allowing users to:

  • Conduct job market analysis at the macro and micro level
  • Explore career outcomes associated with programs of study
  • Guide curriculum decisions for innovative and specialized training and degree programs
  • Identify local opportunities for partnership and investment

International students bring value and create jobs

International students bring great benefits to the UK, enhancing the experience of domestic students, developing the UK’s international networks and reputation, and boosting national and local economies. On and off campus spending by international students and their visitors generated £25.8 billion in gross output in the UK in 2014–15*.

“Over 17,000 students in the UK are from the US – that’s 10% of all international students studying in the UK” comments Christian Bowman, MD at Active – UK reseller of Labour Insight.  “Universities are focusing more on targeted international recruitment. Understanding the US labour market in detail is crucial to ensuring their curriculums remain relevant to the market.  The data can also help pinpoint organisations in the US for ‘study abroad’ opportunities for UK students so the benefits are many-sided.”

If your university is interested having in greater insight into the US and/or UK labour market, please get in touch with us here at Active for a short online demonstration.  Customers can also subscribe to Labour Insight for Canada, Singapore, and Australia/New Zealand.  Contact us if you’d like to know more.
